MONOCOLOR alias Marian Essl (*1993) treats visitors to an extraordinary spatial and visual experience tailored to the State Gallery.

In his performances and installative works, Essl explores the frontier between image and sound. His pictorial worlds span fluid forms and geometric-architectonic structures. His work focuses on the interrelationship between sound, image, light, and space.

For the State Gallery of Lower Austria, Essl has developed a new audio-visual installation tailored to the venue. He creates a virtual world of constantly changing visual and sound structures, perfectly fitted to the architecture of the museum. Visitors are encouraged to dive into this cosmos and enjoy a one-of-a-kind exhibition experience.

The works of this audio-visual artist have been shown in many international institutions and festivals in Europe, Canada, Japan, and Korea. The exhibition in Krems is Essl’s first solo show in a museum.
